Aitzaz Hasan – Shaheed-e-Pakistan

Aitzaz Hasan | Shaheed-e-Pakistan

On January 6, 2014, a 15-year-old boy walked towards school just like any other morning, but something made him stop. Near the school gate stood a suspicious man. While every instinct would tell anyone to run, Aitzaz Hasan ran toward the danger instead.

What happened in the next few seconds would shake an entire nation.

Aitzaz Hasan, a student from a small village in Hangu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had realized that the man was a suicide bomber, his target: a school full of hundreds of innocent students. Without hesitation, without backup, and without fear, he confronted the bomber alone.

One teenage boy, with nothing but courage, stood between a terrorist and hundreds of lives. The Government of Pakistan honored him with the Tamgha-e-Shujaat, but no award could truly measure what he did that day.

This is the story of a hero who never got to grow up, but whose name will never be forgotten.
